Deliverability
Domain setup, list hygiene, launch checks, and what to watch.
Whether your emails land in the inbox is mostly decided before your first real send: your provider, your domain authentication, clean data, and honest consent. Audryo helps you catch what's missing before it costs you — it can't manufacture a sending reputation you haven't earned.
Audryo never sends customer mail from its own servers. Your reputation lives entirely in your own ESP account (Resend recommended).
Launch checklist
- Connect your ESP and verify DNS — see Connect your ESP.
- Use a dedicated subdomain (
mail.yourcompany.com) rather than your root domain. - Connect the provider webhook so bounces and complaints suppress future sends automatically.
- Confirm every language variant of every journey email, and pass the built-in dry run.
- Open the journey's Review tab and clear every listed blocker before activating.
- Start with a small audience and watch bounce/complaint rates before scaling up.
- Keep your From name and address consistent with what recipients actually expect, and use a real, monitored reply-to address.
Authentication (SPF / DKIM)
Your ESP gives you the DNS records Audryo shows under Settings → Email delivery — publish them exactly as shown (Type, Name, Value), then click Refresh until the status reads Verified. Propagation is usually a matter of minutes but can take longer depending on your DNS host.
Content habits that help
- Confirm emails ahead of time rather than editing them live at send time.
- Keep subject lines specific and honest; avoid misleading preview text.
- Marketing emails always include a clear call to action and an
unsubscribe footer — Audryo requires both in every email layout.
- Pick the communication class that honestly matches the content (see
Types of emails) — never label a promotional email as something else just to skip the consent check.
Keeping your list healthy
- Sync contacts with stable, unique IDs from your own system rather than
relying only on repeated CSV uploads as your source of truth.
- Record marketing consent explicitly on the
consent ledger — never assume it from the fact that someone used your product.
- Let bounces and complaints suppress automatically via your provider's
webhook, and add a manual suppression for anyone who asks not to be contacted outside of that.
- Use the blocklist for standing policy (e.g. a whole competitor domain),
and suppressions for individual delivery holds.
- Contact erasure is permanent and logged — use it deliberately.
What to actually watch
Open [Insights](./insights.md) for delivery, bounce, and complaint rates (infrastructure health), open and click rates (diagnostics), and — for Journeys with a holdout — incremental conversions against the goal. That last number is whether the sequence worked.
If complaints spike, pause the Journey, review audience and copy, and fix suppressions before resume. See Holdouts and pausing.
